Mkhuhlu – The three people shot dead in a Mercedes-Benz have been named as 36-year-old Wilfred Nhlanhla Dludlu, 35-year-old Sello Amos Mogashoa and 25-year-old Phemelo Arthur Ndaba.
The trio was fatally shot in Mkhuhlu, outside Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga, last Friday, 22 August 2025.
Gunmen shot at their vehicle as they drove along a road near a hospital.
Mpumalanga police police spokesperson Brigadier Donald Mdhluli said two people died on the spot and the third succumbed to gunshot injuries in hospital.
The spokesperson said the dead had been since been identified by their relatives.
Their Mercedes-Benz, with Gauteng number plates, was left riddled with bullets.
Brigadier Mdhluli said a manhunt for the perpetrators had been launched.
“The police are investigating three counts of murder following an incident whereby three male victims were shot inside a charcoal Mercedes-Benz with Gauteng registration number plates,” he said.
Brigadier Mdhluli said the exact motive for the shooting was not yet known.
