Pretoria – Hisense SA has today made an impressive donation of 100 Hisense mobile devices valued at R200 000 to the Pitso Mosimane Youth Football in Menlyn.

Hisense said the devices will be allocated to the Pitso Mosimane Youth Football’s coaching staff to improve programme coordination, player management, and digital accessibility across the organisation’s national footprint.

The initiative forms part of Hisense SA’s continued investment in youth development and community upliftment, following the brand’s October 2025 sponsorship of one of South Africa’s rising soccer stars –  further strengthening its commitment to local sporting excellence.

Pitso Mosimane Youth Football is one of the country’s fastest-growing and most impactful sporting development institutions.

Currently, the organisation is training over 12 000 young players nationwide, operating across 18 partner schools, three community clubs, and has employed 92 qualified coaches.

The organisation’s mission, to deliver a world-class youth football development programme that transforms players, coaches, and institutions through structured coaching, holistic education, and leadership systems, aligns strongly with Hisense SA’s commitment to empowering South Africans through education, technology, and opportunity.

The organisation provides a wide range of high-impact programmes, including:

  • A community-based club programme offering structured, competitive training for boys and girls aged 6–17
  • A CAPS-aligned school-based programme integrating football and physical education into the curriculum
  • Open-access holiday clinics offering professional coaching and life-skills training in safe, inclusive, fun environments

Luna Nortje, Deputy General Manager of Hisense South Africa, said: “Pitso Mosimane Youth Football represents the very best of South African potential.

“Their commitment to structured development, mentorship, and opportunity mirrors our own values at Hisense SA.

“By equipping their coaches with the tools they need, we are investing in the next generation of champions: on and off the field.”

Coach Pitso Mosimane stated that his organisation’s mission has always been to transform young lives and “Create the Player of Tomorrow” through access, opportunity, and structured football development.

“Tools like these devices empower our coaches to work smarter, track progress more effectively, and ultimately serve the 12 000 young players who depend on us,” said the highly decorated coach.

“We are deeply grateful to Hisense SA and the Chinese Embassy for investing in our vision and helping us build the future of South African football.”

Mosimane is a highly experienced coach who has coached several top-tier teams at home and abroad, including SuperSport United, Mamelodi Sundowns, Al Ahly, Al Ahli Saudi, and Abha.

This strategic partnership between Hisense and the Pitso Mosimane Youth Football was championed and facilitated by the Chinese Embassy in South Africa, under the direct leadership of Ambassador Wu Peng.

It stands as a direct outcome of his commitment to using sport as a powerful bridge for friendship and development between our nations.

Ambassador Wu has consistently advocated for deeper people-to-people and sports exchanges, expressing China’s unwavering willingness to engage with South Africa through sport.

By strategically initiating this collaboration, he has translated diplomatic vision into tangible action.

This partnership answers that call by harnessing the world’s most popular game, football, as a universal language.

It is more than a sponsorship; it is a shared goal, leveraging the spirit of teamwork across borders to invest in South Africa’s youth.

Together, the embassy aims to unite, inspire, and develop young talent, showcasing how strategic cooperation builds a lasting legacy for community development and mutual understanding.

Hisense SA remains fully committed to supporting initiatives that advance youth empowerment, access to technology, and community development across the country, and looks forward to promoting a love of soccer nationwide – ahead of the brand’s sponsorship of the FIFA Soccer World Cup in 2026.
