Polokwane – The partially decomposed body of 15-year-old Xilaveko Suke, who was reported missing, has been found at her father’s house in Rotterdam village in Limpopo.
Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, on Boxing Day, Friday, 26 December 2025, said Suke was thought to have travelled from her village to Giyani with her father, Peter Themba Baloyi, for Christmas shopping.
Suke failed ot return home and was reported missing on Monday, 22 December 2025.
A public appeal was subsequently issued to solicit assistance from the community in tracing their whereabouts.
In a shocking development, Suke’s body was found on Christmas Day in the village.
“On Thursday, 25 December 2025, at around 08:50, police received a report regarding the discovery of a body at the father’s place of residence at Rotterdam Village,” said Colonel Ledwaba.
“Upon arrival at the scene, the deceased’s paternal grandmother pointed out the body of a young girl inside a one-room house.
“Police further established that the body of the 15-year-old was in a partially decomposed state and had a visible stab wound.”
However, Colonel Ledwaba said the whereabouts of the father, who was reported missing together with the deceased, remain unknown.
Police are continuing with intensive efforts to trace him.
The house of the missing father, who does not live with Suke’s mother, was later torched.
