Moscow – As many as 57 thematic trains were introduced by Moscow Metro last year to make passenger journeys not only comfortable but also engaging and informative.
In 2025, the Moscow Metro also launched 24 festive New Year-themed trains to celebrate the holiday season.

“We aim to ensure that every journey is not only comfortable but also interesting for our passengers,” shared Maksim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor for Transport and Industry.
“In 2025, we launched 57 thematic trains dedicated to Russian regions, organisations, important social projects, and anniversary dates.
“This includes 24 New Year-themed trains.
“Our goal is to make every trip both comfortable and engaging for passengers.”

Six trains were dedicated to regions of Russia:
1. Novgorod Oblast
2. Oryol Oblast
3. Tula Oblast
4. Vologda Oblast
5. Republic of Karelia
6. Far Eastern Federal District

Anniversaries of organisations were celebrated with special trains:
1. 80th anniversary of Rosatom
2. 65th anniversary of RUDN University
3. 35th anniversary of EMERCOM of Russia
4. 10th anniversary of MATCH TV channel

Trains honouring public services were also launched:
1. My Documents (Multifunctional Centres)
2. Emergency Medical Services
Additionally, a train was introduced for Animation Day, featuring beloved characters from cartoons like Smeshariki, Fixies, and Finnick.
Passengers can also ride the Olympic Express, which showcases both traditional and newly added Olympic sports, such as surfing, skateboarding, and golf.
