Johannesburg – ActionSA Ekurhuleni Mayoral Candidate, Councillor Xolani Khumalo, returns to the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court today, Wednesday, 18 February 2026, in connection with allegations that he assaulted a suspected drug dealer.
Khumalo, who doubles as a host for the anti-drug show Sizok’thola TV on Moja Love, voluntarily handed himself over at the Katlehong Police Station when the matter first surfaced a month ago.

ActionSA insists the complaint laid by “a self-confessed drug dealer” was false.
The ActionSA Ekurhuleni mayoral candidate appeared in court and was released on R2 000 bail.
ActionSA said it rejects the pathetic attempt to intimidate Khumalo, which only exposes the desperation of the corrupt syndicates that have operated with impunity in Ekurhuleni for far too long, and whose impunity is now being challenged by a crime fighter unwilling to allow his country to be destroyed by criminals.
Khumalo will be joined by ActionSA President Herman Mashaba, National Chairperson Michael Beaumont, Parliamentary Chief Whip Lerato Ngobeni MP, Member of Parliament Dereleen James MP, Gauteng Chairperson Funzi Ngobeni MPL, as well as community anti-crime organisations, activists, and other party leaders.
In a more recent matter, an alleged drug dealer was shot dead during the filming of an episode of Sizok’thola TV.
The matter remains under investigation.
Last year, on 14 April, the television presenter and anti-drug activist was acquitted of murder charges by the Palm Ridge Regional Court.
The charges stemmed from the 2023 death of alleged drug dealer Robert Varrie during a raid filmed for Khumalo’s TV show Sizok’thola on Moja Love.
Additional counts of robbery and malicious damage to property were provisionally withdrawn, allowing Khumalo to walk free.
Following the acquittal, Khumalo was reinstated to host the program’s fourth season.
However, the state indicated investigations into the incident were ongoing.
