Life Sentence For Limpopo Boyfriend Who Killed Partner

SENTENCED: Themba Mashiloane had been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of his girlfriend

Nebo – The Nebo Regional Court in Limpopo has sentenced Themba Mashiloane to life imprisonment for the 2024 murder of his girlfriend, closing a case that has spanned more than 18 months.

The court found that Mashiloane killed his partner, Refiloe Letshedi, in Thabeng village after she tried to end their relationship.

Mashiloane was arrested the day after the incident, with Letshedi’s cellphone found in his possession.

After several appearances at Nebo Magistrate’s Court, the matter was ultimately transferred to Nebo Regional Court.

On Tuesday, 2026/03/31, the Nebo Regional Court found the suspect guilty of the Murder and sentenced the accused to life imprisonment.

Detective Sergeant Kabelo Shokane of the Nebo-Jane Furse tracking team led the investigation, successfully opposing bail and gathering evidence that secured the conviction.

Provincial Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe welcomed the sentence, praising the police team’s diligence and reaffirming the SA Police Service’s commitment to tackling gender-based violence.
