Polokwane – Police suspect the dismembered body found in a shallow grave could be that of a missing 18-year-old woman, who uses a wheelchair, Anna Makhukhu Ramollo.
Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said both the teenager from Rakgoatha Village, outside Moletlane, Limpopo, and her brother, 24-year-old Nakedi Ramollo, were reported missing on Workers’ Day, Friday, 1 May 2026.
“The body was discovered on Wednesday, 7 May 2026, at about 19:34 in a bush along the R519 road between Zebediela and Polokwane,” Colonel Ledwaba said.
The gruesome find was made after a local farmer alerted police to a herder’s report of a foul smell while searching for cattle.
“Upon arrival at the scene, police discovered a shallow grave covered with freshly cut tree branches,” Colonel Ledwaba said.
“Further investigation led to the recovery of a decomposed and dismantled female body with severe injuries.
“The body was transported to the Forensic Pathology Services for post-mortem examination and formal identification.”
Police have since opened a murder case at Zebediela Police Station.
Colonel Ledwaba said police have intensified the search for the dead teenager’s elder brother, Nakedi Ramollo.
The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has strongly condemned the brutal killing and directed investigators to mobilise maximum resources to ensure the swift arrest of those responsible.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Nakedi Ramollo is urged to contact the Investigating Officer, Sergeant Rodney Mothiba, on 076 098 6633, or Crime Stop on 08600 10111, the nearest police station, or use the MySAPS App anonymously.
