Duban – Passerbyes removed the occupants of a car that lost control and crashed into a tree, but unfortunately, one of the occupants was dead.
ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said the single car crash occurred earlier this morning, Tuesday, 26 May 2026, “just after 07:15am”.
Jamieson said ALS Paramedics responded to the crash on Edwin Swales Drive, near the BP Garage in The Bluff, South of Durban.
“Paramedics arrived on the scene to find carnage as they found that a single vehicle had somehow lost control and collided with a Tree,” said Jamieson.
“Paramedics found the driver, a male believed to be in his 50s, had been removed from the vehicle by bystanders.
“Paramedics assessed the man; however, he showed no signs of life and was declared deceased on the scene.
“There were no other persons injured.”
Jamieson said that, at this stage, events leading up to the crash were unknown; however, police were in attendance.
