COMING TO SA: Globally acclaimed Mexican electronic music artist Mauricio Rebolledo

Johannesburg – Sub Sahara has officially announced the Seasons Tour 2026, a five-date international run that will bring globally acclaimed Mexican electronic music artist Mauricio Rebolledo to London, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Nairobi, and Kilifi.

across June and July 2026.

“The tour in June and July 2026 marks Rebolledo’s first-ever performances on the African continent,” said Sub Sahara, an SA and UK-based electronic music agency and cultural organisation operating across Events, Experiences, Radio, and a Record Label.

“This tour includes Rebolledo’s debut in East Africa and continues Sub Sahara’s mission of building meaningful cultural bridges between globally respected underground electronic artists and Africa’s rapidly growing electronic music audience.”

The tour kicks off in London on 27 June at 17 Little Portland Street in collaboration with OpenLab before heading to South Africa for performances in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

Rebolledo will headline Johannesburg’s Bad Manors on 3 July before taking over Cape Town’s Botanik Social House on 4 July.

The African leg then continues into Kenya with performances at Muze Club in Nairobi on 9 July and Salty’s Beach Bar in Kilifi on 10 July.

More than simply a touring schedule, the routing has been intentionally curated as a broader cultural experience.

Between the South African and Kenyan legs, Rebolledo will embark on a two-night safari experience arranged by Sub Sahara, reflecting the agency’s immersive approach to international artist engagement.

Over the years, Sub Sahara has brought globally respected names, including Marcel Dettmann, Ben UFO, Gerd Janson, Axel Boman, Seth Troxler, and Nick Warren to the continent, positioning each visit as more than just a fly-in performance, but rather as a meaningful cultural exchange.

Widely regarded as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary electronic music, Rebolledo has built a global following through his hypnotic blend of deep techno, psychedelic and tribal house and leftfield club sounds.

A regular at globally recognised events and venues including Mayan Warrior/Robot Heart at Burning Man and Panorama Bar in Berlin, his arrival in Africa comes at a time of growing international interest in the continent’s underground electronic music scenes, particularly in South Africa and East Africa.

The South African shows are presented in partnership with Sheer City, while the Kenyan leg is presented alongside venue partners and their cohorts.

South African support artists Lelowhatsgood and El Gordo will join the African leg of the tour.

Johannesburg vinyl star Abby Nurock joins the tour in London and Johannesburg.
