Johannesburg – Air Europa’s inaugural flight connecting Madrid, Spain, and Johannesburg, South Africa, will launch tomorrow, Wednesday, 24 June 2026.
The inaugural flight will depart from Spain’s Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport at 23:45 and arrive at O.R. Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg, at 09:50 on Thursday, 25 June 2026.
Air Europa’s new service represents the airline’s first-ever route into sub-Saharan Africa and forms part of its broader Africa expansion strategy.
The route will operate three times weekly using the state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliner, offering improved passenger comfort, operational efficiency, and enhanced connectivity.
The move marks a significant milestone in strengthening tourism, trade, and cultural ties between Southern Africa, Europe, and Latin America.
