Polokwane – Police have recovered a stolen Tractor Loader Backhoe (TLB) machine and arrested a 20-year-old suspect at a farm in the Botlokwa, Limpopo.

The versatile construction and agricultural machine that combines a tractor, front loader, and rear backhoe into one unit was reported stolen during the past weekend in Matlala.

Police were tipped off that the stolen TLB was hidden at a farm in the area along the N1 next to Bylsteel, in Botlokwa.

Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the police acted on the tip-off and recovered the TLB on Wednesday, 24 June 2026.

The suspect was arrested for possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle.

A criminal case has been registered at Botlokwa Police Station.

The suspect is expected to appear before the Morebeng Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 26 June 2026.

“Further investigations are continuing, and police are actively pursuing additional suspects believed to be linked to the theft,” Colonel Ledwaba said.

“More arrests are expected as the investigation unfolds.”

Limpopo Commissioner of Police Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe commended the police officers and external stakeholders involved in the operation for their swift response and effective collaboration.
