The renovation also reinforces its position as one of Sandton’s premier destinations for conferencing and business engagements.
The first phase of the renovation, which began in April 2026, focused on a full-scale transformation of the hotel’s 800-seater Ballroom, along with its ten dedicated meeting rooms.
This upgrade introduces a contemporary design, expanded flexibility, and state-of-the-art audio-visual and conferencing event support, positioning the venue to meet the evolving requirements of corporate and MICE clients in one of Africa’s most competitive commercial districts.
Maintaining Seamless Operations Throughout The Improvements
The refurbishment was carried out through a carefully managed phased approach to ensure seamless continuity of hotel operations, with minimal disruption to guests and partners.
All core facilities, including guestrooms, wellness amenities, and dining outlets, remained fully operational throughout the renovation project.
NH Johannesburg Sandton also continued to deliver a comprehensive meeting and events offering during the refurbishment period.
A selection of alternative venues within the property remained available, featuring flexible room configurations, integrated audiovisual capabilities, bespoke catering options, and access to 350 on‑site parking bays.
The hotel successfully accommodated corporate functions, small conference groups, and social occasions, ensuring a flawless experience without compromise.
During each stage of the refurbishment, the hotel management team maintained consistent communication with all stakeholders, ensuring they are informed of the progress.
Future‑Ready Event Spaces Unveiled
The newly reimagined Ballroom and meeting areas have now been unveiled following the successful completion of the refurbishment in June 2026.

Further Hotel Modernisation in the Pipeline
