Johannesburg — A spectacular R100 000 hole-in-one was one of the highlights of a record-breaking SEIFSA Annual Golf & Padel Day held at Randpark Club on Friday, 21 August.

The annual event brought together SEIFSA members, industry leaders, clients and partners, with 74 fourballs taking to the Bushwillow and Firethorn courses and 35 players competing in the padel tournament.

The standout moment on the golf course came when a player achieved a hole-in-one on the SEIFSA-sponsored 17th hole of the Firethorn course, securing the R100 000 hole-in-one prize.

The achievement added an unexpected highlight to a day that saw record participation across both golf courses and the padel tournament.

The event was supported by headline sponsor Rand Mutual Assurance Prevention Programme, whose continued partnership with SEIFSA helped make the 2026 Golf & Padel Day a resounding success.

For the first time this year, four SEIFSA-affiliated Associations: Electrical Allied Industries Association (EEAIA), Construction Engineering Industries Association (CEA), Temporary Employment Services Division(TESD), Light Engineering Industries Association(LEIA) and South African Pump and Manufacturers’ Association (SAPMA) sponsored a watering hole and entered fourballs.

This greatly facilitated marketing each association’s benefits and led to many an enquiry that each association will follow up on.

On the golf course, ARMCO Superlite (Pty) Ltd recorded the highest score of the day across the two courses with 107 points, making them the overall winners of the 2026 SEIFSA Golf Day.

Coleus Packaging topped the Bushwillow course with 97 points.

For the second consecutive year, padel formed part of the programme, adding another dimension to a day centered on bringing people from across the metals and engineering sector together.

Juexin Fire Engineering took first place in the padel tournament, followed by Industrial Water Cooling in second and Howden Africa in third.

Across the two golf courses, watering hole sponsors added to the atmosphere with activations, refreshments and opportunities for participants to engage throughout the day.

Participants also had access to complimentary health screenings provided by Unicare Bassonia Pharmacy.

The Best Stand, sponsored by SEIFSA, was awarded to Mitek Industries South Africa (Pty) Ltd on Bushwillow and Old Mutual on Firethorn.

SEIFSA Chief Executive Officer, Tafadzwa Chibanguza, said the record turnout demonstrated the value members and industry partners continue to place on opportunities to connect.

“SEIFSA thanks our members, sponsors and partners for their continued support, Chibanguza said.

“It is this support that enables us to bring people from across our industry together and create opportunities for relationships and conversations that extend beyond the formal business environment.

“It is important for SEIFSA to continue playing its role as a convening partner for the metals and engineering sector.

“Events such as the Golf & Padel Day create a non-boardroom space for people to connect, strengthen relationships and build the networks that underpin our industry.

“We are delighted with this year’s record turnout and look forward to building on it again in 2027.”
