Johannesburg – For 13 days this September, Johannesburg shoppers can experience a little of Babylonstoren without leaving the city.

The celebrated Cape Winelands farm takes over Hyde Park Corner’s Centre Court with a spring installation created especially for the occasion.

Open to the public from 2 to 14 September, Babylonstoren in Bloom is the centrepiece of Hyde Park Corner’s Made for the Season campaign and marks Babylonstoren’s first activation of this kind in a shopping centre.

Inspired by Babylonstoren’s distinctive Puff Adder walkway, the installation brings together the farm’s love of gardens, design and seasonal beauty in a setting that gives visitors plenty to see, smell, sample and take home.

A selection of Babylonstoren bath and body products, home fragrance, linen, décor, honey, pantry favourites, wine and gift items will be available to sample and purchase throughout the activation.

The collection draws on the farm and its gardens, with many of the products made using ingredients and materials grown or created there.

Adding a burst of spring colour to Centre Court will be a display of clivias running alongside the Babylonstoren installation, including the first double clivia in South Africa called The Hyde Park Double, grown and bred by independent Clivia grower André Swart.

Clivias also have a natural connection to the Babylonstoren farm, where clivias are one of the garden’s much-anticipated spring highlights and form part of the seasonal planting along the original Puff Adder walkway.

“Babylonstoren has such a distinctive sense of place that people recognise immediately, whether through its gardens, its food or the beautiful products that come from the farm,” says Tevye Block, General Manager of Hyde Park Corner.

“Bringing a taste of that experience to Johannesburg gives our customers something genuinely special to discover at Hyde Park Corner this spring.

“Made for the Season is also about the pleasure of discovering what is new as we move into spring.

“Babylonstoren in Bloom brings that idea to life in Centre Court, while our stores are introducing new fashion, fragrance, swimwear and homeware for the season.

“We want people to come in, explore and enjoy everything happening throughout the centre.”

The Puff Adder that inspired the Hyde Park Corner installation is one of Babylonstoren’s best-known garden features.

The 70-metre walkway on the farm follows the banks of a stream beneath a dome-shaped lattice structure, with its planting changing throughout the year.

Clivias take their turn in spring, following winter aloes and preceding the roses, berries and bonsai of summer.

The Hyde Park Corner interpretation captures elements of that experience on a smaller scale, bringing one of the farm’s most recognisable garden spaces to Johannesburg.

More Made for the Season at Hyde Park Corner

Babylonstoren in Bloom is part of a wider spring line-up at Hyde Park Corner, with new arrivals and seasonal collections giving shoppers plenty more to discover during September.

South African lifestyle brand Freedom of Movement opens at Hyde Park Corner on 3 September with its collection of footwear, apparel, bags and accessories, while the centre’s fashion and lifestyle stores are welcoming new-season ranges.

Also new to Hyde Park Corner from 1 September2026 is RedLine Paris South Africa, the contemporary fine jewellery brand’s first boutique in Africa.

Known for its refined, minimalist pieces designed to be worn, layered and collected, RedLine brings its distinctly Parisian approach to Johannesburg following its expansion across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the United States.

At Moss, the Mii à Table collection brings garden-inspired detail to the table, while La Corset welcomes the latest Pain de Sucre swimwear for warmer days.

Avenue 2A, the exclusive South African stockist of Brunello Cucinelli fragrance, is also showcasing the Italian fashion house’s fragrance collection.

Babylonstoren in Bloom at Made for the Season at Hyde Park Corner runs in Centre Court from 2 to 14 September 2026 during normal Hyde Park Corner trading hours.
