NEW APPOINTMENT: Former Springbok winger Bryan Habana has been appointed Brand Ambassador for The Unlimited
SHARE

Durban – The Unlimited, a financial services provider and business process outsourcing operator, has appointed former Springbok winger Bryan Habana as Brand Ambassador.

For more than three decades, The Unlimited has been building a business around a simple belief: that business should do better.

Along the way, they’ve protected customers, grown people into leaders, created opportunities, and shifted the lives of millions of children through The Unlimited Child.

Yet, for all that’s happened behind the scenes, many South Africans still don’t know the story of The Unlimited.

Now, it’s time to change that.

And The Unlimited has called up a “Wingman” to help.

They’ve appointed Habana as their Brand Ambassador. Or, as the business prefers to call him, their “Wingman”.

His role? To help more South Africans discover the people, stories and purpose behind The Unlimited.

What makes the partnership particularly interesting is that, just a few months ago, Habana didn’t know who The Unlimited was.

“I honestly had never heard of The Unlimited,” he said.

“But the more I learnt about the impact they’re having, the more curious I became.”

A wingman, not a spokesperson

“This was never about finding a celebrity to endorse our brand,” said Susie Hart, Head of Brand at The Unlimited.

“We wanted someone alongside us who was genuinely curious, someone prepared to experience The Unlimited for themselves and take South Africans on that journey with them.”

“There’s also a strong natural alignment,” said Hart.

“Bryan has built his career on discipline, purpose and constantly raising the bar.

“That drive to keep growing and do better resonates strongly with who we are as a business.”

A key part of Habana’s journey will unfold on The Coral Couch, where he’ll sit down with people from across The Unlimited to uncover the stories behind the Brand, including those whose lives have been shifted along the way.

In these unscripted conversations, Habana will experience the business from the inside, ask his own questions and share what he discovers with South Africans.

“We want South Africans to meet our people, understand the opportunities inside this business and see what’s possible when people are given room to grow,” said Hart.

“There’s also a bigger story we want to tell – what business can and should do when it genuinely sets out to unlimit lives.”

Habana’s Wingman role will extend to customers too.

During the first months with The Unlimited, he’ll help them navigate their journey, understand what they have access to, and discover more of the value available to them and their families.

For The Unlimited, stepping into the spotlight isn’t about talking more about itself. It’s about sharing what sits at the heart of the business.

For Habana, it’s a chance to get under the skin of a 30-year-old business that covers more than three million lives and has paid out over R1 billion in claims.

“How do we not know about this incredible business?” said Habana.

“I’m genuinely curious about how they got here, and I’m looking forward to finding out more.”
