Johannesburg – Owing to a water shortage, the Labour Court and the Labour Appeal Court have been temporarily closed.
In a statement on Friday, 25 September 2026, the Office of the Chief Justice said: “Members of the public, court users and legal practitioners, are advised that the Labour and Labour Appeal Court, in Johannesburg will temporarily close at 13h00 today, 25 September 2026, due to a water shortage affecting the building”.
The statement said affected parties will be contacted regarding alternative arrangements for all matters scheduled on the court roll for the day.
“Operations are expected to resume on Monday, 28 September 2026,”’ the statement said.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
