Johannesburg – Pick n Pay is bringing colour cosmetics into the grocery shopping basket with the launch of Real Cosmetics, a new own-brand makeup range comprising more than 100 Beauty Without Cruelty-endorsed products, all priced below R90.
It is available in over 100 Pick n Pay stores nationwide and on Pick n Pay asap!, making it the only on-demand grocery retailer to offer a dedicated makeup range for delivery within 60 minutes.
The range covers everyday makeup essentials for the face, eyes, lips and nails, with the most expensive product retailing at just R89.99.
Products include concealer and BB cream, lipstick and lip plumper, eyeshadow and liner, mascara, nail polish and highlighter.
More than simply covering the basics, Real Cosmetics was developed with variety in mind, offering shades for different skin tones, ages, and occasions.
Concealers and lip products span lighter to deeper tones, while the lipstick assortment ranges from neutral everyday shades to brighter colours.
The range can create everything from an everyday look to something more festive.
The assortment also combines familiar makeup essentials with trend-led products, including plumping lip glosses and highlighters, while details such as airless pumps on the BB creams add a more premium touch to selected products.
Real Cosmetics is designed for customers looking to replace a finished product, experiment with a new shade or pick up something extra while doing their regular shop, says Landre Venter, Head Product Marketing at Pick n Pay.
“Customers don’t have to make a separate shopping trip now to pick up a new concealer, mascara or lipstick,” Venter said on Wednesday, 14 October 2026.
“With every product priced below R100, it also gives customers the freedom to try and discover something new without a significant spend.
“Thanks to it being available on Pick n Pay asap, customers also have the option to replenish their makeup bag within an hour, without leaving home.”
The range was developed in partnership with a local cosmetics supplier, combining the supplier’s expertise in the South African colour cosmetics market with Pick n Pay’s understanding of its customers.
Pick n Pay helped develop the assortment, including selecting products, colours and shades.
“Working with a local supplier means we can respond to what South African consumers are looking for, while also introducing products that reflect current beauty trends,” Venter said.
“ We wanted the range to offer something for a broad range of customers, whether they are looking for a simple everyday lipstick or want to experiment with brighter colours and new products.
“We want Pick n Pay to be a place where customers can find more of what they need in one shop, and the new Real Cosmetics range is a natural extension of that.
“Whether customers are picking up their beauty essentials in store or ordering them from home through asap!, we’re making it easier for customers to get what they need, when they need it.”
Real Cosmetics is available at over 100 Pick n Pay stores and on Pick n Pay asap!.
