Johannesburg – The Samsung Galaxy Content Creator Awards, sponsored by Samsung, are gearing up for an unforgettable night as some of South Africa’s biggest entertainment names prepare to take the stage for the awards ceremony on 17 October 2026 at The Galleria in Sandton.

Hosted by popular comedian and television presenter Mpho ‘Popps’ Modiokane, the ceremony will bring together South Africa’s top creators for an evening of live performances, dance, celebrity presenters and a few surprise appearances still under wraps.

This year’s awards night features two meticulously produced show-stopping moments showcasing nominee talent in the room.

The six nominees in the 947 Sound of Tomorrow category, Chesrae Megan, Carter Najar, Lordkez, Lukiemusic, Mikhalé Jones and Teagan’s Things, will come together for a specially created musical medley produced and arranged by James Frank of Waawee Music.

The performance will bring the energy of the creator community to the awards stage, celebrating the next generation of South African musical talent while giving audiences a chance to see six rising artists perform together in a way they won’t see anywhere else.

The dance floor will also get its moment, with the five nominees in the Dance category coming together for a specially choreographed performance.

Chad Jones, Benny Jnr, Ludopie, Rudi Smit and TDO Thando will unite for a massive live performance choreographed by nominee Benny Jnr.

The awards ceremony will also feature a star-studded presenting line-up, with Grace Mondlana, Nadia Jaftha, Courtnaé Paul, Ndabe Zondi, Banele Ndaba and Sphokuhle N, among others, taking to the stage throughout the evening.

The audience can also expect a few surprises on the night with a number of surprise celebrity appearances.

More Than Just a Trophy For the creators being celebrated, winning a Content Creator Award comes with more than recognition on the night.

This year, the awards’ partners have come on board with a selection of prizes designed to give creators access to technology, commercial opportunities, financial support and experiences that can help them take their careers to the next level.

The #CapturedWithGalaxy Award winner will walk away with a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 valued at R40,999, while the Samsung Galaxy Creator of the Year Award winner will receive R20,000 in cash along with a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, valued at R50,999.

The Emerging Creator Award, presented by Creator Club, comes with a campaign valued at R50,000, giving the winning creator an opportunity to turn their influence into a tangible commercial opportunity.

The winner of the Cars.co.za Automotive Content Award will receive a R10,000 cash prize, while one lucky voter will also have the chance to win a prize valued at R20,000.

The YouTube Creator of the Year winner will receive R25,000 in cash, while the BYD People’s Choice Award winner will be treated to a content trip to China with BYD.

Adding to the opportunities available to creators, LIFT, the official airline partner, will give one lucky nominee a R10,000 LIFT Wallet, while Telkom will also provide a cash prize of R10,000 for the winner of the Best Online Series Award.

“From the very beginning, our goal with the Content Creator Awards was to build a platform that genuinely invests in the creator economy,” says Manuela Dias de Deus, Founder of the Content Creator Awards and Founder of One-eyed Jack.

“We always wanted to make sure the awards are about more than simply walking away with a trophy.

“The incredible support from our partners means we can give creators access to opportunities that can genuinely help them grow, from technology and cash prizes to campaigns, travel and new experiences.

“At the same time, we’re creating a show that celebrates the creativity and talent of this community.

“We can’t wait to bring everyone together on 17 October.”

For the first time this year, all out-of-town nominees will be flown in to join the celebration, with subsidised flights from LIFT, additional travel support from Samsung and accommodation generously covered by One-eyed Jack.

For those unable to attend the ceremony in person, the excitement will still be accessible from home, with the 2026 Samsung Galaxy Content Creator Awards set to air on eVOD at a later date.

Audiences will be able to catch the night’s biggest moments, from the highly anticipated performances and award wins to the red-carpet arrivals and unexpected surprises.

Get Your Tickets Now For fans who want to experience the action live, there are limited tickets available for purchase via Quicket, giving audiences the opportunity to see some of South Africa’s most influential creators, entertainers and digital personalities come together under one roof.

Of course, no great event comes together without the support of great partners.

A special thank you to Samsung, BYD, Cars.co.za, Telkom, YouTube, 947, eVOD, LIFT, One-eyed Jack, The Creator Club, Ray-Ban, Humanz for helping make it all possible.
