Johannesburg – Xylia has released her debut single, “Imithandazo,” a heartfelt offering centred on prayer, faith and trust in God’s plan.
Through the song, she hopes to encourage listeners to remain steadfast in their faith, especially during difficult moments when answers may seem distant.
For Xylia, the message behind the single is deeply personal and extends beyond music.
“Praying in faith is not hoping God might; faith is knowing God will,” Xylia said.
“Believe that God hears you and can answer your prayers, even if it’s not in the way you expect.
“Don’t give up. Continue to pray with faith and trust in God’s timing.”
The single is already receiving support from radio stations and positive feedback from listeners on the streets, marking an encouraging start to her musical journey.
With its message of hope and spiritual conviction, “Imithandazo” introduces Xylia as an artist who wants her music to connect with people on a deeper level.
Born Xola Botomane, the rising singer known as Xylia is carving her own path in the South African music industry, using her voice to inspire hope and remind listeners of the power of prayer.
Based in Protea Glen, Soweto, Xylia hails from Mthatha in the Eastern Cape.
Her journey began long before she ever stepped into a recording studio.
At the age of five, she moved to Matatiele, where she was raised by her grandparents and spent much of her childhood.
After completing high school, she made the bold decision to move to Johannesburg to pursue her dreams of becoming both an actress and a singer.
Her love for music developed at a young age, inspired in part by the colourful musical world of Disney Channel.
Shows and films such as Hannah Montana, Camp Rock, High School Musical and The Cheetah Girls became a significant part of her childhood.
She would sing along to her favourite songs, imagining herself as part of the world she watched on screen.
Those moments helped nurture her passion for performance and strengthened her belief that she, too, could one day stand in the spotlight.
Even today, Disney Channel remains close to her heart.
As she grew older, Xylia began writing her own songs, gradually discovering her voice as a songwriter and artist.
However, despite her passion and talent, she initially lacked the confidence to take her music into the studio.
Encouragement from people who recognised the beauty and sensuality of her voice eventually helped her overcome that hesitation.
Their positive feedback gave her the courage to believe in her abilities and take the next step towards turning her musical dreams into reality.
As she continues to build her name, Xylia is focused on releasing more music, growing her audience and establishing a distinctive identity within the industry.
Her journey from a young girl singing along to her favourite Disney performances in Matatiele to an emerging artist pursuing her dreams in Johannesburg reflects a story of courage, perseverance and belief.
With her debut single opening the door to new opportunities, Xylia is determined to keep moving forward, trusting her journey and using her voice to leave a lasting mark on the South African music scene.
For Xylia, this is only the beginning.
