Shocked passengers said they were lucky to escape unhurt when the mini-bus taxi their riding in caught alight.
Netcare 911 paramedics and other emergency responders found the car on fire in Richmont under the M41 bridge in Umhlanga, Durban.
“When medics arrived on scene they found a mini-bus taxi engulfed in flames,” Netcare 911 said on Thursday after attending to the emergency.
“According to passengers the vehicle had caught alight while traveling towards Phoenix. Fortunately none of the occupants were injured.
“The fire was doused by the Ethekwini Fire and Rescue Services.
