South Africa’s elite crime busters – the Hawks – are looking for an errant Home Affairs official who allegedly unlawfully facilitated the issuing of SA passports to Pakistan nationals.
“Kagiso Ronny Maboa (38), a Home Affairs official is sought by the Hawks Middelburg-based Serious Corruption Investigation team for fraud, corruption and contravention of the immigration Act,” said Captain Dineo Lucy Sekgotodi
“Maboa is sought following an investigation which started in April 2022, whereby he allegedly colluded with a Pakistani mastermind to facilitate that foreign nationals obtain South African passports fraudulently.”
Captain Sekgotodi said the fraud involved using South African citizens’ identity details when processing the applications.
A warrant for Maboa’s arrest has already been issued.
“Members of the public are urged to assist in locating Maboa by contacting the investigation officer, Captain Sam kolobe on 0714813126 or by sending a tip-off via MySAPSApp,” said Captain Sekgotodi.
“All information received will be treated with the strictest confidentiality.”
