Durban – Three people have been shot dead and three others seriously injured along Market Road in the market area.
ALS Paramedic Medical Services said paramedics were alerted to the shooting just before 11h30 on Sunday.
Witnesses said a robbery had been in progress at a local supermarket when the shooting erupted.
“Three people including two security guards were found with fatal gunshot wounds and despite Advanced Life Support Paramedics attempts to resuscitate them there was nothing more Paramedics could do for them, and they were declared deceased on the scene,” said ALS Paramedic Medical Services.
“Another three people including a security guard and a SAPS (SA Police Service) member sustained serious gunshot wounds and was stabilised on the scene by Advanced Life Support Paramedics before being transported to a nearby Durban hospital for the further treatment that they required.”
SAPS officers and Metro policemen were on the scene and will be investigating further.
