Potchefstroom – A day after the police in Cyferskuil asked the public to help find missing 15-year-old Karabo Monyama, her remains have been found buried in a shallow grave in a backyard.
Karabo’s remains were found on Wednesday at the house, where her 23-year-old boyfriend lived.
The boyfriend has since been arrested for murder, perjury, and defeating the ends of justice.
He is expected to appear in the Moretele Magistrate’s Court on Friday, (10 March 2023).
Karabo left her residence at Monageng Street, Cyferskuil, close to Makapanstad, on Sunday, (5 March 2023).
When she left home at about 13:00, Karabo said she was going to watch soccer at a nearby field.
Those who saw her leave home said she wore a white crop top, a green mini skirt, and black Adidas sneakers.
Karabo never returned.
A search was conducted around the neighbourhood and Cyferskuil precinct without any success.
The police were alerted of the missing teenager and their investigations led to the discovery of Karabo’s body buried in a shallow grave.
