The Orkney Magistrates’ Court in the North West has again postponed the case against the African National Congress (ANC) MP, Kula, to 17 April 2023, to allow for further investigations.
Last month, the ANC said it was moving to recall the murder-accused MP.
The High Court of South Africa; North West Division has also issued a notice for 23 March 2023, for Kula to appeal the judgment that denied him bail.

Kula’s first appeal for bail was struck off the roll at the high court of South Africa, North West Division, because his application was not in order.
In the refiled matter, senior state advocate, Benny Kalakgosi, is ready to oppose the application for bail.
An application has been submitted to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions in North West, Dr. Rachel Makhari, for the matter to be transferred to a higher court, owing to its serious nature.
Police reports reveal that Kula’s wife was found murdered on 27 November 2022, in what seemed like a robbery.
She was found with a stab wound on her back but the object that was used for her alleged murder has not been recovered.
“The matter was reported by the medical facility where she was allegedly transported by the accused to receive medical attention,” said Henry Mamothame National Prosecuting Authority North West Division Regional Spokesperson
“He told the police that he was not present at his home when the incident occurred.
“Following thorough investigations by the police, he was linked to the alleged murder, and he was arrested on Friday, 20 January 2023, and charged with murder.
“Police investigations are still underway, and Kula will remain in police custody until the next court appearance.”
