Durban – A man in his 50s was shot in his lower leg Wednesday in the Bellair area, where an armed robbery took place at a restaurant.
ALS Paramedics said they responded to a shooting incident that occurred along Sarnia Road, near Woodlands Avenue, at about 21:30.
On arrival, paramedics said they found South African Police Service officers, members of various security companies, and local Community Police Forum on the scene.
“Paramedics were shown to a man in his fifties who had been shot in his lower leg,” ALS Paramedics.
“He was stabilised on scene by advanced life support paramedics before being transported through to a nearby hospital for the further care that he required.
“It is alleged that there was an armed robbery taking place at a restaurant and whilst the suspects were fleeing they opened fire injuring the man.”
Police are investigating.
