Paris – Thirty-four-year-old Gabriel Attal has become France’s youngest prime minister.
President Emmanuel Macron appointed France’s youngest-ever prime minister – and the first to be openly gay – on Tuesday.
Attal became a household name as a government spokesperson during the Covid pandemic.
However, the appointment has sparked controversy in France.
In his first speech, the former education minister vowed to “keep control of our destiny and release our French potential”.
The prime minister leads the government.
