Johannesburg – Pastor Mboro, whose real name is Paseka Motsoeneng, and his co-accused – son Vincent Baloyi and bodyguard Revival Motshoeneng – have again been remanded in custody.
During their appearance at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, Alberton on the East Rand, on Friday, (16 August 2024), the Incredible Happenings Church leader – at times – appeared to be in prayer.
However, his prayers for freedom will take a little longer to be answered after the court adjourned the trio’s bail hearing to Monday, (19 August 2024) – meaning the man of God and his co-accused will spend a second weekend behind bars.
Being incarcerated appears to have weighed heavily on the pastor who so loved his son that he allegedly assisted him in forcibly removing his two small sons from their school in a violent custody battle.
The boys are enrolled at Matsediso Primary School, Katlehong, in Grade R and Grade 2.
In his affidavit read in court, pastor Mboro pleaded with the court to free him on bail because his ability to assist his followers “spiritually and financially” was being impaired.
However, the court further remanded him and his co-accused in custody to allow for more investigations.
Allegations are that Pastor Mboro wielded a panga and his bodyguard brandished a long gun at the school frightening the children and teachers to the extent that they needed counselling.
After a video of the shenanigans went viral pastor Mboro was arrested more than a week ago, on 6 August 2024, a day after the alleged incident.
In retaliation to the alleged violent behaviour at the school, an angry mob torched the marquee that pastor Mboro used as a church.
The trio made their first appearance in court on 7 August 2024.

Pastor Mboro and his two accused face several charges including kidnapping, possession of dangerous weapons and unlicensed firearms, possession of a prohibited firearm, assault by way of threat, pointing of firearms, discharging of a gun, and malicious property damage.
The State said it was opposing bail because pastor Mboro has had previous run-ins with the police.
A police affidavit indicated that pastor Mboro had previously been arrested at least nine times for various offences. The accused allegedly gave different residential addresses in the cases.
Some cases were withdrawn, while others remain under investigation.
Pastor Mboro will be back in court on Monday.
