Johannesburg – Johannesburg Water has warned of possible supply disruptions in the city’s south.
“This is due to incoming bulk supply still being a challenge, as well as high demand,” Johannesburg Water said in a statement released late Sunday, (15 September 2024).
“Efforts were made during the day to boost both systems, however, the South Hills Tower remains critically low with no pumping taking place at the tower.
“The Klipfontein View area is also affected by similar challenges of no incoming water supply.”
Johannesburg Water said it initiated options to “configure the system overnight” while closely monitoring the situation.
Pumping at the tower will resume as soon as the supply improves adequately.
Johannesburg Water said it would continue to provide alternative water supply where required.
Areas affected include:
• Klipfontein View
• South Hills Tower supply zone: Risana, South Hills, Tulisa Park, Steeledale, Linmeyer, Oakdene, Rosettenville, and Klipriviersberg Estate.
“There is currently no estimated time of recovery,” Johannesburg Water said.
