Johannesburg – Popular actor Ntate Sello Motloung has passed away at the age of 53, the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) announced.
“The SABC is profoundly saddened by the passing of Ntate Sello Motloung,” the national broadcaster said on Monday, (16 September 2024).
“His significant role in shaping the entertainment landscape will never be forgotten.
“The SABC extends its heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and fans.”
The veteran actor Motloung, fondly remembered for his roles in Ring of Lies, passed away on Sunday, (15 September 2024).
Motloung also appeared in films including Invictus and The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency.
Motloung was the second high-profile actor to pass away in as many days.
On Friday, (14 September 2024), the SABC announced the passing of Darlington Michaels, best known for his iconic role as George “Papa G” in Isidingo.
The SABC said it was, “deeply saddened” by his passing.
“His immense contribution to the entertainment industry will forever be remembered,” the SABC said.
“‘We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Michaels family, friends and fans.”
