Durban – In an era dominated by digital technology, Enkanyisweni Church of Christ in Zion (CCZ) has emerged as a shining example of how faith-based organisations can use social media and online platforms to spread the word of God to people.
Enkanyisweni CCZ was Founded in 1981 by late Professor PDP Sithathu.
From its humble beginnings in Mtubatuba, Gunjaneni, the church has grown into a thriving community with multiple branches across several locations.
“What sets Enkanyisweni CCZ apart is its commitment to empowering the youth,” said Pastor Sicelo Ngobese.
CCZ has a choir that also excels in the Gospel music genre and their lasted album named “Inyoka” is making waves on social media.
The choir has been an important part of Enkanyisweni CCZ ministry which uses music to spread their message of faith and hope.
Enkanyisweni CCZ youth choir member, Nonsikelelo Mlambo, said: “The church has a vibrant and active youth community, and it’s no surprise that we have been actively involved in the production of the latest album which has kept us motivated”.
By including the youth, the church is not only providing them with valuable skills and experience but also ensuring that the message of faith and hope is passed down to the next generation.
In recent years, Enkanyisweni CCZ has made a deliberate effort to embrace the digital age.
The church has established a strong online presence, with a website and social media accounts that provide a platform for sharing their music, sermons, and community news.
Nqubeko Zulu, a member of Enkanyisweni CCZ’s Social media and marketing team stated: “Our latest album, which has been trending on various music platforms, is a testament to our successful digital strategy”.
By harnessing the power of social media and online platforms, Enkanyisweni CCZ has been able to reach a wider audience.
“By empowering the youth and embracing the digital age, the church is ensuring that its message of faith and hope will continue to inspire and uplift the future generation,” Zulu said.
Their music, which is a unique blend of traditional and contemporary styles, has resonated with listeners from different cultures and age groups especially on TikTok.
Lucas Sithathu, songwriter and choirmaster, explained: “The church’s online presence has also enabled us to stay connected with people who may not have been able to attend their physical services to our church”.
As Enkanyisweni CCZ continues to navigate the digital landscape, it is clear that the church has a bright future ahead.
Choir leader Sbukelo Zulu said: “With our commitment to spreading the message of faith and hope, and our willingness to embrace the new technology and trends, the church will continue to make a positive impact on the lives of people around the world”.
