Durban – A couple has died in a fire at their flat on Pisces Avenue in Chatsworth, south of Durban.
Speaking from the scene on Mother’s Day, Sunday 11 May 2025, ALS Paramedics spokesperson, Garrith Jamieson, said a couple died in the early hours after their flat caught alight.
He said ALS Paramedics and the Ethekweni Fire Department attended to the emergency.
Jamieson said when the fire was contained, firefighters entered the building and found the bodies of what is believed to be a couple, “a male and a female, in their 50s”.
The South African Police Service was also on the scene.
