Scottburgh – Readers, local surfers, and ocean lovers converged on The Pipe restaurant in Scottburgh, KwaZulu-Natal, over the weekend, where adventurer, big-wave surfer, author, inspirational speaker, and global changemaker, Chris Bertish, launched his highly anticipated new book, Super Stoked!.

The evening launch on Sunday, 14 December 2025, included a film documentary and talk by Chris, both of which were deeply inspiring.

Chris’s story transcends surfing and the ocean.

He captivated the crowd with his message of resilience, purpose, kindness, and the courage to chase one’s dreams.

The event was well-supported by local surfers, ocean lovers, and aspiring groms who connected for this celebration of ocean conservation.

Held in partnership with the Ocean Festival, the launch also served as a platform to announce the official 2026 Ocean Festival dates, which will be held on 1 to 3 May.

Thanks were extended to event hosts, The Pipe restaurant, owned by local legends Catherine Le Pront – whose family is synonymous with surfing champions Louise, Luc, and Leah Le Pront – and Rachelle Walker of Flava’s Bakery.
