A seven-vehicle pile-up along the N2 on Friday left two people dead and three others injured.

Paramedics said the collisions occurred along the N2 Southbound near the NPC Cement Factory just after 2 pm on Friday.

When KZN VIP Medical Paramedics arrived on the scene they said they found that two people had sustained fatal injuries.

Three others sustained serious injuries and were stabilised on the scene by Advanced Life Support Paramedics before being transported to a nearby Durban hospital.

Police were also on the scene.

A witness said: “A bakkie lost control on the Northbound carriageway before crossing over the centre median and colliding into three trucks and another bakkie on the Southbound carriageway.”
