Kaizer Chiefs have revealed that striker Samir Nurkovi? has been sidelined by injury and is to undergo knee surgery.

The striker has struggled since the beginning of the season and has failed to score a goal in four league games and one cup appearance.

The club website reports that Nurkovi? will undergo an operation on Wednesday to repair his meniscus in his right knee.

The Serb is quoted as saying: “I have had this injury niggling me for a while now – the medical team felt it was best to get the operation done. Further assessments will be done after the operation. The medical team will give me a timeline on the recovery process after that.”

Chiefs face Marumo Gallants in a DStv Premiership game later on Sunday.

Other injured AmaKhosi players who will miss the match include Leonardo Castro, Siyabonga Ngezana and Dumisani Zuma, Phathutshedzo Nange, and Kgaogelo Sekgota.
