Police have arrested three suspects, recovered two hijacked trailers, and suspected stolen goods that had been stored at an abandoned factory in Chamdor, Gauteng.
The trailers had been reported hijacked in Ventersburg, police said at the weekend.
Acting on information about suspected hijacked trailers full of stock, police – including the K9 unit – followed up. They found the trailers, but they had been emptied.
“Further investigations led the members to an abandoned factory in Chamdor, where two more trailers were discovered together with the stolen stock,” recounted Captain Kay Makhubele, police spokesperson.
He said three suspects aged between 29 and 40 were arrested.
They will appear in court soon on charges of hijacking and possession of suspected stolen property.
