A horror head-on collision in Johannesburg on Wednesday left two drivers dead and six school children battling for their lives.
The collision between a light utility vehicle and a school bus occurred along Marina Road in the Nietgedacht area of Johannesburg.
Emer-G-Med said paramedics found absolute carnage.
“Two middle-aged male drivers have been killed,” said Emer-G-Med.
“Six school children have been left fighting for their lives.”
Emer-G-Med said advanced life support paramedics worked fervently to stabilise them.
“The assistance of the Netcare911 aeromedical helicopter was called for back-to-back flights, airlifting two of the most critical to a specialist facility for immediate definitive care,” said Emer-G-Med.
“The remaining four were transported rapidly by ambulances to nearby hospitals for further care.”
Police are investigating.
