A 60-year-old man was found dead in his double-cab bakkie after it was involved in a collision with a haulage truck near the N2 onramp in Durban on Sunday.

Emer-G-Med said just after 12h00 on Sunday paramedics responded to an incident along the M7 Eastbound, near the N2 onramp for reports of a serious motor vehicle collision.

“On arrival at the scene, a heavy articulated vehicle was found to have collided with a double-cab bakkie,” said Emer-G-Med.

“On closer inspection, the driver of the bakkie, a male believed to be approximately 60 years of age, was found to have suffered fatal injuries, and there was nothing paramedics could do to assist him, he was declared dead.”

Police were in attendance.
