CASH HEIST: Cash-in-transit vehicle on its side after it was rammed into
SHARE

Three guards were injured during a cash-in-transit heist on Friday after their van was rammed into by armed robbers before it rolled along the N1, near Murreyhill Road in Pretoria.

Witnesses said at about 10:20 the cash-in-transit vehicle was rammed, resulting in it rolling over and landing on its side.

It remained unclear how much money was stolen.

Shawn Herbst, the spokesperson for Netcare 911, said: “Three guards had sustained minor to moderate injuries, not related to any gunshot wounds”.

He said the guards were treated on scene before being transported by Netcare 911 ambulance to a hospital.

The heist comes just days after two security officers were shot multiple times and injured when their cash-in-transit vehicle was bombed in a heist in Kempton Park.

Police are investigating. No arrests have been reported yet.
