NEW YEAR'S EVE CRASH: As many as 26 passengers were hurt
SHARE

As many as 26 passengers were injured on New Year’s Eve when their bus, headed for Durban, crashed into road barriers and fell on its side along the N3 in Pinetown.

ALS Paramedics on the scene said there was a “serious bus accident on the N3 Durban bound after the Mariannhill Tollplaza in Pinetown just after 6 am on Friday morning”.

Apparently, the bus had lost control and crashed into the barrier before coming to rest on its side.

“A triage system was quickly set up and immediately more ambulances were dispatched to the scene,” said ALS Paramedics.

“A total of twenty-six passengers sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate were stabilsed on the scene before two passengers were transported to a hospital for the further treatment that they required.”

Police were on the scene. They are investigating the cause of the New Year’s Eve crash.
