Metro FM may have unwittingly sparked a dance spoof backlash after the station reportedly suspended radio host Dineo Ranaka for dancing on a table at work as part of the trending Umlando dance challenge.
Media reports said Dineo was suspended for her participation in the viral Umlando Dance Challenge, in which contestants – mostly men – shake their hips from side to side and up and down.
The dance challenge is inspired by the Amapiano hit song uMlando. Contestants post their moves on social media.
While Dineo may have been suspended for shaking her derrière, sympathetic colleagues from rival media have posted their own moves while dancing on top of office chairs and tables.
Radio host Thando Thabethe posted a video clip of herself taking part in the Umlando challenge during her drive time show on 94.7 Highveld Stereo.
