Zimbabwe’s popular opposition leader Nelson Chamisa on Monday ended years of squabbling over the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) name by simply renaming his party “The Citizens Coalition for Change” (CCC).
Zimbabweans go to the elections in March next year giving the 43-year-old politician enough time to let his millions of supporters know the new CCC name.
Meanwhile, MDC-T leader Douglas Mwonzora and his deputy Thokozani Khupe are taking each other to court over the legitimate owner of the party name.
Last week Khupe said Mwonzora had been expelled from the MDC-T after he claimed he was now in charge of the MDC Alliance the name Chamisa abandoned on Monday.
