LATE NIGHT HEIST: Two security officers were shot and wounded
SHARE

Late Thursday night there was a shooting incident involving an asset-in-transit vehicle along the N4 between Watermeyr and the N1.

Reports from the scene were that an explosive device had been detonated.

Emer-G-Med said paramedics attended to two security officers who had sustained gunshot wounds.

“One was found in a critical condition and was treated and stabilized on scene by Emergency Care Practitioners before being airlifted to a specialist facility for the definitive care that he required,” said Emer-G-Med.

Police were on the scene and the highway was closed.
