With fireworks lighting up the sky at Dubai Expo 2020, it was indeed an announcement of the prestigious world expo ending with glittering events.
The delayed Dubai Expo 2020 was hosted by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai for 182 days from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022.
Originally scheduled for 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021, the Expo was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Dubbed the worlds greatest show, the six-month-long cultural and business jamborees last a lifetime in our memories for the life-changing inventions that emerged out of it.
For the time, the first world fair was hosted by an Arab country. Running under three sub-themes of Sustainability, Opportunity and Mobility, Expo 2020 is the first world Expo to have 190 plus countries participate with their own pavilions.
The Expo was a global platform to reconnect, rethink and collaborate on the much-needed post-Covid recovery strategies and investment plans since it happened when the world was still reeling from the impact of the pandemic.
It is up to all the country pavilions and participants to be answerable on what they gained in the last six months, when thought leaders, academics, NGOs, corporates and governments met with different goals to achieve.
The UAE is one of the best tourist destinations in the world and having a Safari Park means they are sending a clear message to its visitors that come to us, whatever you want to see in African safaris, we have it here.
The Safari prides itself in having around 50 000 animals (120 species), including gazelles, giraffes, African wild turtles, crocodiles, lions, rhinos, African rock python, elephants and flamingos.
The Park has a large natural lake and 100 000 African trees, as well as restaurants, cafes, a conference hall, safari visitors camp, and more.
The Park is also home to a large collection of Samar trees, which are essential to the reserve.
The trees provide food for camels and goats in the desert, as well as nectar to bees, which produce honey.
BEST PAVILIONS HONOURED
With over 200 pavilions, Expo 2020 Dubai had much to offer visitors, whether it was stunning designs, innovations or entertainment.
Split into five categories according to the size and type of pavilion, the awards recognise three aspects of pavilions: Architecture and landscape (for self-built pavilions only); exhibition design; and theme interpretation.
A total of 51 Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards were handed out during the ceremony.
Meanwhile, international leaders have declared Expo 2020 Dubai a success and one of the best the world has ever had.
The worlds fair, Expo 2020 was a huge success, attracting more than 26 million visits and offering a platform for countries from all corners of the globe to share their culture, customs, and plans for a brighter future.
