Just when you thought it couldn’t get worse on a cold, rainy Saturday – Eskom has added to the misery by ramping up load-shedding to Stage 4 from 13:00 to 22:00.
The struggling power utility said in a tweet: “#Loadshedding will be increased to Stage 4 from 13:00 until 22:00 tonight. #Stage4 loadshedding will be implemented at 08:00 until 22:00 tomorrow night. Demand is higher than anticipated, some units have tripped.”
The situation has gone from bad to worse.
On Friday Eskom only implemented load-shedding Stage 2 during the peak period from 17:00 to 22:00.
After announcing the same schedule for the weekend – Eskom changed its tune and said load-shedding would begin at 08:00 on Saturday morning until 22:00 with a repeat on Sunday.
