A man has died in a house fire in Douglasdale suburb, Johannesburg.
Netcare 911 said paramedics responded to a report of a residential fire at 18:47 Tuesday.
“Reports indicate that a house had caught alight with occupants still inside,” said Shawn Herbst, spokesperson forNetcare 911.
The City of Johannesburg Fire and Rescue Services managed to douse the fire, but unfortunately most of the house had been destroyed.
“An adult male from the house was assessed and found to have sustained minor injuries,” said Herbst.
“Another adult male.was also found, however showed no signs of life and was sadly declared deceased on the scene.”
By late Tuesday, the name of the dead man had not been released.
Relevant authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
