South Africa President Cyril Ramaphosa has arrived in Bavaria, in the Federal Republic of Germany to participate in the G7 Leaders Summit.
Ramaphosa, who arrived Sunday morning, 26 June 2022, is there at the invitation of the host, Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
The Summit takes place in Schloss Elmau, in Bavaria, tomorrow, 27 June 2022, where South Africa will participate in two outreach sessions.
The first will be a working lunch on Investing in the future, where issues of climate, energy and health will be discussed, followed by a working session titled Stronger Together, where the Summit will address food security issues and advancing gender equality.
“This evening, 26 June 2022, President Ramaphosa will attend a Dinner hosted in honour of Heads of State/Government by H.E. Markus Söber, Bavarian Minister-President,” the SA Presidency said.
Reports from the venue suggest that the heads of Government of the US, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Canada and Japan will discuss strategies to secure energy supplies and tackle inflation, aiming to keep the fallout from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine from splintering the global coalition working to punish Moscow.
