Johannesburg – Reducing food waste starts with valuing every ingredient and recognising our shared role.

On the recent International Day of Food Loss and Waste Awareness, Empact Group received an award at the Consumer Goods Council Food Safety and Sustainability Seminar.

This is meaningful recognition of their commitment to reducing food waste and supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goal 12, specifically Target 12.3.

Across their sites, the group’s recent Food Waste campaign encouraged people to eat responsibly and minimise waste.

This is what being a purpose-led organisation means to Empact: connecting their commitments to the choices made in their kitchens and across their operations.

The conversation will continue as Empact’s Sustainability Executive, Lara Barlow, has been invited to join a panel discussion on “Beyond Compliance: Driving Safer, Smarter and More Sustainable Food Systems – are we on the right track?”
