An early Saturday morning collision between two minibus taxis at an intersection in eThekwini left one person dead and two others injured.

“One person has been killed and two others injured in a collision involving two taxis at the corner of Moore Road and Gale Street just before 5 am this morning,” said ALS Paramedics.

Apparently, the taxi’s collided in the middle of the intersection before one veered off the road.

“Paramedics found that one of the drivers, a male believed to be in his 20s, had sustained major injuries and there was nothing Paramedics could do for him and he was declared deceased at the scene,” said ALS Paramedics.

“Two other occupants had sustained moderate to serious injuries and were stabilised on the scene before being transported to nearby hospitals.”

The SA Police Service is investigating the cause of the crash.
