A 36 -year-old murder suspect, who has been on the run for more than two months, has been arrested and charged with the murder of SA Police Service Sergeant Marcia Mazibuko and her sister Pretty Mazibuko.
Both women were shot dead allegedly by the suspect during the night of 15 May 2022 at Kanyamazane, in Mpumalanga.

After the fatal shooting, the police said they were looking for one Rassie Nkuna, who was said to be the boyfriend of one of the deceased women.
On Tuesday police said a 36-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the double murder.
The suspect appeared before the Kanyamazane Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday (16 August 2022), where his name was confirmed as Hlabirwa Rassie Nkune.
However, the case was postponed to 6 September 2022 for further Investigation.
The accused was remanded in custody.
Captain Dineo Lucy Sekgotodi said the wanted suspect was arrested on Thursday (11 August 2022) at his hiding place in Springs.
He was also accused of a third murder of a woman whom he allegedly killed on 6 June 2022 at Sundra, Mpumalanga.
“Provincial Head of the Hawks Major General Zodwa Mokoena welcomed the arrest of this fugitive murderer and appreciated the collaboration of the team which was assisted by the loyal citizens in the fight against the scourge of crime by bringing the perpetrators to book,” said Captain Sekgotodi.
