A man and a woman were found dead in the front seats after their car was rear-ended by an SUV on Sunday afternoon in Durban North, KwaZulu-Natal.
Netcare 911 responded to a collision on the N2 South Bound opposite Sunningdale, Durban North, at 16h45.
“On scene was the Ethekwini Fire and Rescue Services, Durban Metropolitan Police Services, Road Traffic Inspectorate, ALS Paramedics, South African Police Services Accident and Investigation Unit,” said Shawn Herbst, Spokesperson Netcare 911.
“Medics assessed the scene and found an adult male and adult female seated in the front of the car that had been rear-ended.
“Both patients were assessed however showed no signs of life and were sadly declared deceased on the scene.”
Two adult males from the SUV were assessed and found to have sustained minor injuries.
Theywere treated on scene and transported by ambulance to hospital for further care.
“Circumstances leading up to the incident will be investigated by the relevant authorities who were on scene,” said Herbst.
